Hi everyone,

Im new to this great website. Id like to share my story with you,se please. My gorgeous son Kyle was born on 21 october 2011  in the Rotunda Hospital. He was born with talipes in both his feet. When i had my scan at 5 months we were told there was 3 things wrong with our baby. Of course we got a shock its not the news you expect going for your scan. Anyway our baby had talipes, fluid on his kidneys and the umbilocal cord had two vessels instead of three which the baby feeds off. We were told these problems on there own were not of great concern but when they come in a cluster they need to investigate because its a sign of any number of syndromes most commingly being down syndrome and edwards syndrome. So we had to have a test done to check the baby for the syndromes. The results take a week coming from Glasgow. As you can imagine it was the longest week of our lives!!! Thankfully the results came back negative and we proceeded with the rest of our pregnacy troublefree. The Rotunda arranged for us to meet with the talipes consultant in  Crumlin Hospital when i was 8 months gone. It was useful for us but to be honest it still didnt prepare us for what was to come.

Anyway Kyle arrived healthly into the world 2 days early on 21/10/11. Both his feet has talipes and so our journey began. The Rotunda released me without any appointments for kyle to be seen or even showing us how to do the physcio. The baby nurse called out 1st wk kyle was born and told me to get onto rotunda and follow up what was happening. bascially der was a mix up somewhere and they hadnt arranged for kyle to see anyone. we went into rotunda next day and met with a doctor who advised us kyles feet were more severe than to require just physcio. This doctor was great and rang temple street as we were there and asked the plaster team could we come over. So over we went and kyle had his 1st set of plasrers on. He was a little angel and it didnt bother him at all. he slept through it all. We went back into temple st every mon after that to have his plaster changed. Kyle had 4 wks of plaster.

On 12 Dec kyle had his little operation on his heels in temple street. It was here we met a lovely couple whose daughter was having the same procedure done. It was great to meet other people with the same story and know were not alone. And it was this couple that told us about this website so thank god for little miracles!!! Anyway the operation went well and off we went home for christmas. we returned to temple st on 28 dec and they removed kyles casts.
