Michelle replied to Denise Mullins's discussion 1st week of Boots and Bar - not a bother!!!
Mia Barry said… Yes - if they don't, contact temple St. Make sure you cut off the toes on the socks so you can see the toes, that way you can tighten a lot as you can see the pink toes! I'm sure it will settle after a couple of days. If it continues in the long run it can be a sign that the feet have not been corrected properly - but please do not worry about this at this point as it really does take a couple of weeks for the foot to settle.
Please let me know how yo get on.

Mia Barry said… Hi Michelle,
I used the Maxi Cosi with Louis. I don't think the car seat is the problem. It sound like the boots are not on correctly or tight enough. If they are on right (and very tight) they should not be coming off at all. Now, bear in mind it takes a few days or a week or so for the foot to "settle" into the boot. The heel then comes down correctly and the boot is easy to tie on properly. At the start make sure you push the heel down and tighten very hard (ensuring no loss of circulation of course). It is also a greater chance of blisters if the boot keep moving so it is important. Check out the boots and bar tips for help too. It is tricky, but you will get the hang of it soon!

Elaine Ash said… Michelle, I am attending Our Ladies & this is what we where told when we visited the clinic before we had our little girl as we had found out at the 22 week scan. Obviously every child is different but this was the expected. This is also what we have been told again by the nurses who had been casting & review the feet each week. Make a little list of all the questions you think of over the next few weeks & bring it with you to your next visit & get them to answer them for you. The 1st few days of the boots & bar was hard & I did think to myself how can I do this for 4 years the crying is just so stressfull, but its amazing how when the get used to it after a few days, it all settles & its just becomes the norm with no tears as both you & your baby get used to it.

Elaine Ash said… Michelle my little girl is now in her boots and bar 5 weeks and she got them on when she was 6 weeks old. I was told it would be about 3 mths of 23 hrs a day & then 12 hrs a day until about 4 or 5. So far I have not had any problem at all with her feet falling out but one thing I did notice was that over the 5 weeks we have now moved in 2 holes on one boot & 1 extra hole on the other boot due to the leather softening so my advice is always go as tight as you can.
Good luck with it all
