Hi everyone , my daughter has talipes in her right foot , it is significantly smaller than the left also , i was just wondering if anyone knows if this will even itself out or always remain smaller, her big toe is also shorter than the toe beside it , I was told this was normal for a child with talipes..

Thank you

Hi Pamela, I have just joined and I am the mum of a daughter of 4.5 who has talipes of the right foot. My daughter is 1.5 sizes differences and the size difference is a characteristic of a child with talipes. Also there can be a difference  in calf size . With little girls u may notice more as they wear skirts but from my wxperience u cannot notice on my daughter. We attended Temple Street and it was the Ponsetti method used. But my girl can run dance play the same as other children. We had an appontment yesterday and she has finally finished with the boots and bars at night but she may require a further operation in June and cast for six more weeks  . Doctor says it likely. I am nor sure how  we will work around the mobility but it will be our new Norm. Her feet will differ prob if they are now but it's nothing to worry about. If big difference (2-4) sizes two pairs of each shoe , stuck to dark colours if you are getting different sized( a good tip I heard from a lady who worked in a show shop) who had a teenage talipes girl with four size difference as the eye is drawn to bright colours, and finally Clark's do a discount on the second pair if u need them for a particular reason. Hope this helps a little

thanks for your reply , helps alot , best of luck to you and your daughter , :) x

yes,it is OK.this is normal.do not worry,be happy with your child.

I'm more than happy with her, It is just nice to be able to ask simple questions to people with children who have the same or similar condition as my child.

I know it is normal , I just wondered would it even out or become close to the same size.

Best of luck
