Hi! This is a tricky one that I would love to hear some comments on too! My son is only 1.5 years but I am allready wondering how parents deal with this at "the terrible two". The only thing I can think of is to use a "grow bag", sleeping bag. Louis has one now and it works great, so he can't get at the boots. But they are probably too hot for use in the summer? More comments and help please!

Hi ya, My son hated them at about that age and we also put them on when he was asleep

I think you should talk to your hosp, if you have them on very tight there is no way unless he is sitting up and untiying them that he should be able to get them off.

Good Luck

OMG!  I got up this morning and my son had taken off his one boot completely.  At first, I thought my husband may have not put them on right for some reason, but now I'm confident my son is the next Houdini!  He spent a good 20 minutes today trying to put on his regular shoes and socks today.  He's absolutely fascinated about putting his socks and shoes on.  I will try the sleeping blankets, but I don't think they make them big enough for kids his age (20 months) and size.  We thought about putting an adult sock over top of them so he would have to struggle a bit to take them off in the middle of the night.  Also, do you know where I can get the cushions to go around the bar?  I've heard of the cushions that go around a bike's handlebars, but I don't know where to buy them in the US.  I think the bars make noise sometimes and this could help a bit.  Let me know, guys, when you figure this one out!

jason is 3 on the 29th of jan ..we've given up on the boots .we put adult socks on him but he got out of them & the boots .he now is wearing a splint at night .but i dont think they are good as the boots .he is due back at the hospital this month ..i think were looking a starting all over again.he's foot has started to turn so do try what ever you can to make sure he has the boots on all night

I have heard that football socks are great! Long and tight. Also, some parents tend to resort to ducktape in the end... You just have to cut your son free with sissors every morning, but rather that than a relapse. Best of luck!

I do not think this is  the problem for turning again. it is normal.until 18-20 years old our children will have trouble with his feet.My daughters doctor tell us this.
